Above: A scene from Open Table in April 2010. Open Table is a free weekly dinner (Thursdays at 6:30). Folks of all ages, backgrounds, shapes, hues, theological viewpoints, and financial standing attend. Open Table has become the centerpiece of community life here. The menus are simple, collaborative, & always satisfying. Conversation  ranges from the very silly to the truly sacred.   Come & eat.

Above: Pastor Christie gives haircuts to folks from the congregation & the local community in exchange for barters of comparable worth.

Above: As an Active  Family Life event in September of 2009, folks of all ages joined Pastor Christie & her spouse in camping out  behind the parsonage.

Above: Phil & David with pro-love signs, alongside hundreds of other pro-love activists, in Long Beach, CA. The pro-love activists were protesting an anti-Semitic, anti-Haiti, anti-gay hate group from Topeka, KS.

These two do a good job living up to our Moravian motto: “In all things, love.”

Above: Preparing enchiladas for our annual Enchilada Sale. It was a huge success!

Above: Daily, people from the neighborhood rest on this bench in the alley behind our church building. Those who most often make use of the bench are families with young children, homeless individuals--like the woman pictured here, elderly neighbors who are out walking their pets and need a break, and the city lot lawn-mowing crew.

[That vegetable garden is tended by our  youth!]

Check out our regularly updated Needs/ Haves board in the narthex:

[In accordance with the early church in the book of Acts, we seek to have no one needy among us--not because we aren't welcoming, but because we have already met one another's need.]
